Evaluation of mulch practices on growth and yield of four Lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum) germplasm

An experiment was conducted in the horticultural farm at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka to evaluate Mulch practices on Growth and yield of four Lisianthus germplasm. The consisted treatments (Mo: Control, Ms: Straw mulch, Mc: Cocodust Mbp: Black polythene mulch) germplasms (V1: Arena Type Pure White,V2: Double White, V3: Light Pink, V4:Super Magic Blue), laid out a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. results showed significant variations among varieties different mulches. tallest plant (71.6 cm), thickest stem (5.7 mm) largest flower size (70.6 were found V4 (Super magic type Blue) than others. Plants grown mulch (Mbp) recorded (65.1 highest dia. mm), maximum number (6.4), flowers/plant (44.7) (64.9 control. Based above parameters, mulches are put order as follows Mbp ≥ Mc Ms Mo.
